Eight names, common or proper - the Platypus cards - are laid out face up for all players to see. The Guides are in the know about which card the Explorers need to discover and guess. To assist them, they provide hints using Adjective cards that perfectly describe the Platypus. These hints are selected from their hand of four cards. With every new hint, the Explorers can cross off one or two names that don’t fit the description given. The aim is to uncover the Platypus while keeping the card that matches the target name in plain sight. A game can wrap up in two exciting ways: when the team achieves its fourth Success - in which case the players triumph over the game - or when the team successfully eliminates the Platypus.
