Upon moving to Paris in 1886 and taking in "modern" art (later known as the impressionists period), he forged his own unique personal style.
Vincent loved the color yellow and sunflowers. Some speculate both lifted his spirits as he suffered from mental illness.
He wanted to be known as the painter of sunflowers, so he painted 11 canvases in total. His roommate and fellow painter, Paul Gauguin, even painted a picture of Vincent painting sunflowers. When he died, friends brought sunflowers to his funeral. Sunflowers became synonymous with Vincent van Gogh.
Each tube doubles as a displayable container, filled with Plus-Plus colors drawn from the color palette of iconic works of art, like Van Gogh's Sunflowers.
